CFDA FASHION AWARDS 2011
It was a fashion night yesterday at Lincoln Center in NYC for the annual CFDA Fashion Awards, awards reserved to American designers by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The red carpet shined with the most important exponents of American fashion system and the celebrities called to award he designers. The powerful American Vogue director, Anna Wintour, walked the Lincoln Center in a Marc Jacobs creation, but all the flashes were for Lady Gaga: the singer surprised all with a nude Therry Mugler dress and a green wig. Gaga was honoured with the Fashion Icon Award of the year. But the winners’ list is full of great talents.
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez won the Womenswear Designer Award of the year for Proenza Schouler.
The Menswear Designer of the Year Award went to Michael Bastian.

Instead, the Accessories Designer of the Year Award went to Alexander Wang.
Swarovski awarded Prabal Gurung for womenswear, Eddie Borgo for accessories and Robert Geller for menswear.
The International Award went to Phoebe Philo for Celine
Marc Jacobs received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award
and Hilary Alexander of The Telegraph won the Eugenia Sheppard Media Award.
